Suicide PRevention

Community Education

Community Education is the intentional effort to inform, equip, and empower members of a community through accessible learning opportunities that address local needs and promote well-being. It includes workshops, presentations, outreach events, and partnerships designed to raise awareness, build skills, and encourage healthy, informed decision-making. Community education strengthens connections, reduces stigma around difficult topics, and helps create a more knowledgeable and supportive environment for everyone. At Youth Services Bureau, our vision is to create a community where everyone has access to the resources and support they need to thrive. We believe that by working together, we can build a brighter future for all.

Local Outreach for Suicide Survivors

L.O.S.S. (Local Outreach for Suicide Survivors) is a compassionate prevention program that provides immediate and ongoing support to individuals and families impacted by suicide. Specially trained volunteers, often survivors of suicide loss themselves, respond in partnership with first responders to offer comfort, practical guidance, and connection to local resources during a time of deep shock and grief. Beyond the initial response, L.O.S.S. helps survivors access counseling, support groups, and community care, working to reduce isolation and stigma while fostering hope and healing in the aftermath of loss.

Huntington Outreach Prevention and Empowerment

H.O.P.E. (Huntington Outreach Prevention and Empowerment) is a community-focused initiative dedicated to strengthening Huntington through proactive prevention, meaningful outreach, and personal empowerment. H.O.P.E. works to educate individuals and families, raise awareness about critical issues, connect people with local resources, and foster a culture of support and resilience. By equipping community members with knowledge, tools, and encouragement, H.O.P.E. aims to promote healthy choices, reduce risk factors, and inspire lasting positive change.
