Safe Place is a national program that provides immediate help and support to youth in crisis through trusted community locations, offering safety, guidance, and access to vital resources when they are needed most. Our goal is to ensure every young person feels seen, supported, and never alone during difficult times.
Safe Place envisions a community where youth never feel alone, vulnerable, or without guidance, and where caring adults and organizations are ready and trained to respond quickly to help them.
Founded in 1983, Safe Place connects youth in crisis with immediate help, safety, and support through a network of trusted community locations. Over the years, it has grown into a national program, ensuring no young person ever feels alone during difficult times.
Safe Place has provided safety, support, and hope to hundreds of thousands of youth in crisis nationwide. By connecting young people with caring adults and essential resources empowers them to overcome challenges and take positive steps toward a brighter future.
Angela is the Safe Place Coordinator for Huntington, Wabash, and Whitley Counties, providing 24/7 crisis support for youth. She teaches Lifeline suicide prevention to students and trains adults in QPR and C-SSRS, equipping communities to recognize and respond to warning signs. Angela serves on local and state prevention task forces and committees focused on suicide, child abuse, and well-being. Each September, she leads the Walk for Hope, raising awareness and support for youth, veterans, and seniors.
